121BC, Sheung Wan
121BC is a good restaurant, a little bit expensive for the portions which were served but we had a very attentive and careful staff. Before we sat, we discovered there was a confusion about the day of booking, so we gladly ended up with the private space for groups and 4 complimentary glasses of Prosecco (#wouh).
We shared 4 starters/appetizers, including one complimentary starter. My favourite was the bruschetta: you could really feel the mix of grilled cheese topped up with ham.
The tomatoes were good, with a perfect taste of garlic and onion cooked in their heart, but anchovies were too salty for me. Seabass was good but far too small for a dish. The only abundant dish for 1 person (because we shared every dish) was the second pasta with tomato.
We ordered a pasta dish with orecchiette (small ears in Italian) but unfortunately, it was a way too spicy for me. We asked before ordering and they said it was ok but, if you don’t like spicy food, don’t try it.
A really good restaurant, worth going for the wine pairing menu or the market menu. Don’t forget to book in advance as it was packed when we’ve been (and it was Wednesday… ok we are in Hong Kong and people go out every single day), and if you get the opportunity to have dinner in the intimate private space surrounded by wine bottles, you are very lucky and you will all the more enjoy your dinner.
