Hi everyone, this month I’ve decided to go in a different way than usual. Instead of a classic Outfit of the Month, I’ve decided to focus on a particular event: weddings! Everyone knows that starting from Spring and the first signs of cherry blossoms, the season of weddings is launched. So I wanted to show you my selection of long dresses and gowns to wear when you are invited to a wedding.

I particularly focused on long and oversized dressed and gowns because I am myself invited to a ‘traditional’ Spanish wedding in the south of Spain in Granada, Andalusia where tradition is to wear long dresses when you’re a guest. I wanted to find flashy and happy colours to wear to this wedding such as coral colour or pale green colour.  It’s even better when you have a tan skin because it is even brighter.

Wrapped long dress – Mango

Top of my selection is this dress found on Mango’s website with a very light green colour. The style is very classical but the advantage is that you can wear this dress after the wedding such as a formal party or even to go to a beach party in a more casual way. The back of the dress is widely opened and the wrapped shape makes it very elegant. You can pair it with sandals or even espadrilles or high heels.

Penelopey Overlay Gown – BCBGMAXAZRIA

Very simple and classical, this dress is much more expensive and more formal. The solid poppy colour and the slash neck makes it very elegant. The problem is that you cannot try it on if you live in HK, no more shop exist in the city.

Crop top maxi dress – ASOS 

Very classical and a little more dull, this grey dress will make you Queen of the night to your wedding without throwing too much light on you.

Sleeveless dress – La Redoute

Another website which is known to be quite unexpensive in France is La Redoute. Surprinsingly – or not – I found this flounced dress which looks very fresh with its bright colour. You can also buy it in nude and I hesitated for a while before buying … both. I know I can return one or both if I don’t like it eventually.

Yellow rompers – Mango

Not a dress obviously but a bright yellow jumper to make you stand out from the crowd! Play the role to the fullest and wear high heels to express your confident in this modern but very elegant guest wedding outfit!

Ba&sh

Unquestionably, Ba&Sh has been my favourite brand for many years. The prices are often too high and that is why I have limited pieces in my wardrobes, unfortunately. But they do have wonderful outfits for weddings. I couldn’t choose so I put my sub-selection from their online shop here. One particular feature of their collection is to have low back dresses, which I find really elegant.

Revolve  

This online fashion brand has many nice long dresses even if sometimes there are a little bit too sexy for me (body-conscious). But I spotted those ones with again bright colours and nice split lengthwise.

Tie Back Maxi Dress – Whistle

The great discovery of this year is the brand ‘Whistle’ (I think they are based in the UK). I spotted a red summery dress which you can wear for weddings if you find the right elegant accessories. And I found my own dress in their shop with a nice bow in the back. I hesitated for a while between the light pink and the blue version but I finally picked the beige one.
