La Petite Maison, Central
Taking the good excuse of the Restaurant Week edition of February 2020, we tried the famous French restaurant La Petite Maison in Central. The vibes are so cool inside and are really different from what I was expecting, i.e. something very French classic and traditional… not at all!
For appetizers, we chose 2 dishes to share: snails and prawns, which where both very tasty – maybe just the prawns were a little bit too oily to my taste (as you can see on the picture…). The snails were really good and this reconciled me with these little animal as dishes.
For the main courses, we went full meat! A good pork piece and a lemon cockerel shared our table. As I remember it, the chicken was a little bit too dry and fatty for me but still good.
Finally for dessert, we heard our neighbours praising the apple pie so we went for it but I must admist I was quite disappointed by this one as it was quite dry and not really tasty… The rasperry cheescake was better but as you can see, the portion was not generous at all. But it was not a bad thing, given how much we ate during the dinner in overall.
A nice French restaurant with classic dishes. However, overall feeling is a little bit of disappointment. I guess I have to go back and try it again with regular menus.
