Hoi An, Lovely Getaway

Hoi An, October 2016

Vietnam is of course a #mustdo country when you are based in Hong Kong, as it is really close (only 2h30 by air) and you have 1-hour time difference, which allows you to save time when you go to Vietnam. To get to this lovely hideaway, you have to first land to Da Nang and then drive for 1 hour to Hoi An (get a car from your hotel or a cab at the airport).

The hotel where we stayed was cute and the staff very nice…but the room was particularly beautiful and huge for the two of us. We even had a small swing in a tiny garden and an outside wood panels shower.

For our first night we had diner in the famous ‘Morning Glory’ restaurant where the food was simply incredible – especially with some fruity cocktails.

On Saturday, we visited “Tulip” a tailor shop recommended by ones of L.’s friend where they did an amazing work in only one day: they made 2 suits and 2 dresses according to Pinterest pins we showed them. Then we enjoyed the lovely city with homemade ice coffee, the Japanese bridge in the old part of the city, we also did a lot of local shopping for Christmas. We stopped in a random restaurant around 3 pm for a late lunch but the food was ok and quite expensive…

Tulip Silk (8/10): 59 Tran Hung Dao, Hoi An – Tip: prepare your Pinterest pins in advance. You can even order remotely one your measurements are taken.

We even had the time to relax in the swimming pool where he had a view over the beautiful rice fields – it was very romantic. The city by night is lively and charmful with its renowned colorful #lanterns. We strolled in the nigh market and we took a small boat on the river and put some floating candles on the water – even more romantic. Restaurant was good and we were lucky enough to get an outside table on the terrace which overlooked the calm river. Last day was short but we headed to the beach even if the weather was cloudy and the water very fresh.

Even if it was short, this weekend getaway was really relaxing and refreshing. I hope you will have the opportunity to try to enjoy good quality shopping (leather bags) and tailor-made clothes.
